Beautiful course, especially in Spring when hills are all still green. Challenging but not brutal or unfair. Greens are fast and undulating but not ridiculous. Only drawbacks are the remote location (1 hour from Sacramento, 1.5 hours from Bay Area) and the driving range which has you hitting into a hillside. Staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Not cheap, but it is a first-class experience and worth the price. My friends and I will be back next year to play it again.

Absolutely gorgeous course! All the staff we met, from the bag drop, the pro shop, the starter, and the restaurant staff, were gracious and welcoming. Troon operates this course; Troon always does an outstanding job. All in all, a superior experience.

We played in December. The wind was howling (30mph+ gusts), it was cold and I shot one of the worst rounds in years but still loved the experience. The staff was great and the course was excellent in all areas. We only paid $50 on golfnow.com and finished 18 just before dark, but we all had a blast.

I was a lucky one. I got to play Yocha Dehe for free. It was a great experience. You come over a hill and your first view of the course is breathtaking. When you stand on the deck near the proshop, the view is even better.
The course layout is interesting and fun. The first hole is off a mountain and I hit a 290 yard drive (that has never happened before). Lots of water, sand, moguls and grass bunkers but they were not placed where they hurt you if you hit a decent shot. Almost all of the holes have contour and bend, not many flat and straight holes.
The only negatives would be the greens and the pace of play. The greens are in good condition but there were a lot of spike marks around the holes that needed to be cleaned up before putting. However, the greens were still in better conditions than most courses in Sacramento. For pace of play, it took our group 4:45 to play 18 holes, which I understood is fairly common. We were waiting for the group ahead of us on most holes.
If you have a chance to play Yocha Dehe, go for it. You won't be disappointed.

I was invited to play this course by a friend who is a frequent visitor to Cache Creek Casino. He had accumulated numerous points from his visits, enough to warrant free play on the golf course. Wow...what a treat. A beautiful course with a great layout, spectacular views, and a formidable challenge. The staff was outstanding, the service was impecable, the GPS equipped carts with coolers were wonderful, pristine practice facility, and an awesome bar/restaurant to wind down after our round. While I did not have to pay to play this course (this time...) it is a little on the expensive side. However, if you are visiting the casino, I would much rather spend the $75-$80 playing four hours of golf then dropping that money at the casino. The course is worth it if you want to splurge and treat yourself every once in a while. I left out one wonderful feature of this course...pace of play. They only let players out a minimum of every 12 minutes so you very rarely ever have to wait on a hole. We didn't run into anyone the entire round - it was like we had the entire course to ourselves. A+ facility!

Great golf course and very pleasing to the eye. Just a great design, no two golf holes are alike. Fun to play and can't wait to go back.

This course has amenities comparable to a high dollar country club.

As a 10 handicapper I found this course had everything I would want in a course. I only wish it was closer to where I live and a little less expensive. This course could become habit forming. I will go back again and play it. The staff and facilities on the course were great.

If Nordstrom's was a golf course, this would be it! Excellent staff, groomed course, excellent challenge from Gold or Black tees (a bit short from the whites), which brings out the best of your game. Two tremendous finishing holes (17 and 18) yet the course has on challenge after another forcing you to be on your game for all 18 holes. If only they had memberships... this would be the course to play time and again!!!
